Pedal-powered cinema transforms film screenings into a live, collective experience. Audiences generate the electricity needed to power projection and sound by pedalling bicycles, making energy visible, physical and shared.
Electric Pedals delivers pedal-powered cinema for festivals, corporate events, schools and public spaces across the UK and internationally. Each system is designed and built in-house, engineered for reliability, high participation and clear visual impact, from intimate pop-up screenings to large outdoor events.
Which size do I need?
Small Bicycle Cinema: 2–6 bikes, 2.3m screen, up to 50 viewers. Good for schools, community events and indoor screenings.
Medium Bicycle Cinema: 8–12 bikes, 4m screen, up to 150 viewers. Suits festivals, campuses and town squares.
Large Bicycle Cinema: up to 20 bikes, 6.2m screen, 500+ viewers. Built for major festivals, parks and city-centre events.

COMMON QUESTIONS
Does it really run without mains power?
Yes. All the electricity is generated live by the riders. No mains power and no stored battery energy.
What is included?
Bikes with LED wheel lights, screen, projector and sound, a power management system with live energy feedback, technical staff, delivery and setup, a risk assessment and public liability insurance.
Who does the pedalling?
Your audience. Adults and children take turns throughout the film, and hand cranks are available as an add-on so more people can take part.
What do I need to provide?
A film licence and the film file or Blu-ray, a suitable space, event marketing, and marshals if needed.
Can it run in the rain?
Not in heavy rain or high winds, so plan a simple weather backup for outdoor events.
When can the film start?
Outdoor screenings work best from about 30 minutes after sunset.
